About Gallica
Gallica is a data analysis and research company that provides data-insights, data-analysis, and research design. It was founded in Covington, GA in 2018 by Anne Montgomery, PhD, a biostatistician at Mercer University.
Our mission
Gallica provides high quality reports of existing or acquired data in an understandable way for everyone. We keep things simple, while we enforce superior quality statistical analyses behind the scenes. We balance client focus and open-mindedness with straightforwardness and honesty. With these principles we want to serve organizations and individuals looking for enlightening and straightforward insight.
Our founder
Anne Montgomery has been analyzing data for over a decade. She has received her PhD in Social Sciences at the highly reputable KU Leuven (founded in 1425 in Belgium), where she also received her Master of Science in Communication Sciences (quantitative media effects), her Master of Science in Criminological Sciences, and her Bachelor of Science in Criminological Sciences. Her diverse and multidisciplinary background is exactly why she is the best person for the research job; her passions are research and statistical analyses. She is a biostatistician and has taught statistics and methodology for years in both an official capacity at multiple universities, and as an unofficial peer tutor: she knows statistics inside and out, and knows exactly how to phrase the complex in simple language, or in academic articles. She has ample experience teaching statistics, biostatistics, quantitative methods (including on a PhD level), and has been analyzing data for students, professors, researchers, medical doctors, and hospitals.
Ethics
Gallica has an up to date CITI-certificate for ethical research from the National Institutes of Health (“Protecting Human Research Participants”). Gallica knows how important it is for all parties involved to have anonymous and secure data and is aware of HIPAA regulations.
Origin of the name Gallica
The name Gallica is based on the Latin word for "Gallic" or "Gaelic". As the founder was born in Belgium but moved to Georgia, she wanted to connect both parts in the name of her company. Julius Caesar once declared in his war book De Bello Gallico: "Horum omnium fortissimi sunt Belgae": Of all these, the Belgians are the bravest/strongest. This quote is taught to every Belgian person who studied Latin or history, as it explains the origin of the name of Belgium. The name Gallica additionally has the first two letters GA, for Georgia, while Gallica is the female adjective of Gallic. In summary, the founder is a strong and brave Gallic female who lives and works in Georgia.
